Enforcement
We will aggressively enforce the language of our National Agreement, as well as our applicable Handbooks and Manuals. I will ensure that our Arbitration Advocates have the resources, training, and support necessary to win grievances and hold management accountable. We will continue to staff our DRT offices with NALC counterparts well versed in our National Agreement. I will advocate fiercely to continue to staff your Regional office with qualified Sister and Brother letter carriers with the goal to maintain a full staff of Regional Administrative Assistants, a Regional Grievance Assistant, a Regional Office Assistant, a Regional Workers’ Compensation Assistant, a Legislative & Political Organizer, and a Full-Time Advocate. We will not concede on issues that compromise the rights and protections you have earned and deserve.
Education
A well-informed membership is an empowered membership. I, along with your Regional staff, will work tirelessly to continue to provide our local Branch Officers and Stewards with the highest level of training on contract administration, grievance handling, injury compensation, and organizing. Whether it be to come directly to you, or through Regional training sessions across New England, or at our new NALC membership-owned office building in Westboro, MA, training and education will be available to anyone who seeks it. When your local representatives are confident and prepared, the entire Union is stronger.
Engagement
I will be a visible and accessible National Business Agent for the members of Region 14. My door will not be closed to any members. I will travel throughout the Region, to every state, visiting your stations, listening to your concerns, and ensuring that the voice of the letter carrier on the workroom floor is heard at the highest levels of our Union. Your fight is my fight, whether that be at the local, district, area, or headquarters level. This is my commitment to you.
